Toto the Legend
$250.00Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya. Toto the Cheetah Cub: the legend of Big Cat Week and the world’s cutest cub (2005). The vitality, energy, courage and sense of joy shown by cheetah cubs is one of the most endearing qualities to behold. This little male cheetah cub called Toto (meaning ‘baby’ or ‘little one’) was the only surviving cub in its mother’s litter, born in early 2005.
Honey, as his mother was known, would have had perhaps up to six cubs in the litter. But by the age of 3 months, only Toto still survived. Small is beautiful and his faith in his mother to keep him safe and feed him was wonderful to witness. Tragically he did not survive; he was victim to an attack by hyenas or lions or a leopard most likely.
